Workshops and Presentations
I can present on many facets of AS, including:
- Working with Aspergers -- using the strengths of Asperger syndrome, navigating the challenges of the workplace, and choosing the right career path
In this workshop I reveal the specific challenges that people with AS can expect to encounter when they enter the workforce, while providing strategies to successfully deal with them. Many inherent AS ‘traits’ are actually highly desirable qualities in the workplace if understood and utilized correctly. We will also discover how to choose the right career path by drawing a Personal Job Map; a simple tool developed specifically for people with Aspergers and high-functioning autism. This workshop is for: People on the spectrum, esp. young adults, older people who have not found their niche or career fulfillment., teachers and service providers, AS support groups, job counselors, any employer looking to gain awareness. 1½- hours to a full day.
- Female Asperger's -- signs, challenges, solutions and strengths. From mutism to motherhood and beyond.
In this workshop I reveal the specific challenges that females face from early childhood to the later years. Being a female on the spectrum includes many of the same traits as men, but often with different perceptions, challenges and outcomes. Since our traits are often perceived differently, this can lead to misdiagnosis and the lack of proper support. or, the right diagnosis but not enough follow up. This workshop offers information, validation and strategies for being an "Aspergirl".
This workshop is for: Females on the spectrum, family and friends, health professionals, advocates, teachers and service providers, anyone looking to gain awareness. 1½- hours to a full day.
- Loving the Aspergirl life -- How to navigate the challenges of adulthood and have the fulfilling, inspired life you were meant to live.
In this workshop I focus on the specific challenges facing female adults on the spectrum, including relationships, socializing, sensory overload, career, having children, cohabitation, and more.
This workshop is for: Females on the spectrum, family and friends, health professionals, advocates, teachers and service providers, anyone looking to gain awareness. 1½- hours to a full day.
Exciting News! Authors Liane Holliday Willey, Shana Nichols and myself, are going to be presenting a "Celebration of Females on the Spectrum" event at various locations. Visit my schedule page or www.CelebrateFemaleASD.com for more information.
